Dental Health is a Top Priority
When dental health is the topic, I can see images of teeth running inside my mind. Nothing more than visions of teeth – healthy and not, then I started to realize, it is not just about teeth but the underlying tissues and bones. I have been missing a lot because I have focused myself on just caring for my teeth.
When we say dental health, it should be the entire oral cavity. It is not just caring for your pearly whites, you might be missing a lot, like me and my very little knowledge about it. I have learned through research that you may have really white teeth with the crowns unblemished but you can’t really tell if it is healthy. I have encountered once, a patient waiting in the dental reception sharing to me his story what terrible condition he has. I can see his teeth almost brilliant white and he told me he is totally caries-free. A portable oral irrigator can be useful when travelling.
So what could be the problem? It startled me when he actually pushed his incisors with his tongue and I saw the incisors literally moved into slanting position. And then it suddenly came to me, he has putrid breath too. I can see how sorry he is having overlooked his dental obligations because aside from time constraints, he thought his dental health is perfect. This is a really pitiful situation but I couldn’t tell him anything that could calm him, at this point when I am so unsure even of my own condition. An oral irrigator can help to fight / prevent gum disease
I tried to consult every search engine and it is surprising to find out that what could have gotten the case worse is improper oral hygiene practice. But of course there could be certain conditions that have aggravated the situation. It is funny how we have lived our lives with our oral cavity and how little do we know about it. Learn how to stop gum disease before it is too late.

That Dreadful Dental Disease…
There is a rampant occurrence of gum disease worldwide. It may be suggestive of a lifestyle problem. We tend to be too preoccupied, with what seems to be equally important, but you have to know how destructive gum disease could be to our total wellbeing. Products like Oramd, might help.
You may hear experts say that just because you brush and floss regularly you become less susceptible to gum disease. And upon research I found out that it is not merely brushing, flossing and visiting your dentist regularly that saves you from the dreadful inflammation of gums and its detachment to the bones that hold the teeth.
Good and proper oral hygiene practices could spare your gums, too. In a magazine I have read, it says, good oral hygiene when practiced properly gives back highly satisfactory results. A friend confirmed that, too.
She had really bad case, imagine blood lubricating her oral cavity instead of just saliva and it is foul smelling, too. It’s really unsightly but I am proud to say that she is doing what she can to reverse the problem. There is a fine set of mouthwashes made by therabreath that might be helpful.
Socially, it has wounded her but she is starting to pull herself back together. Gingivitis could really go out of hand with neglect. It can cause recession of gums and reducing the bones that hold the teeth in place. Can you imagine how painful that is? It is thrice more painful than a decaying tooth.
Some people wonder why, despite their religious biannual visits to the hygienist, their gums are still red and flabby. Gingivitis is a serious, fast-progressing and life threatening condition. The hydrofloss is something that some hygienists recommend!
Research says that using some products could do more harm than good. For instance, the floss – it is just a piece of thread, you might think but when used improperly – it could destroy the continuity of your gums thus causing gum recession leading to tooth mobility and worse, tooth extraction.

Stocking Fillers for Feline Fanciers
Desperate for those trifling, but all-important, little” giftettes” to use as stocking fillers? These little items that are usually obtained at late night garages on Christmas Eve can also be imaginative and creative.Chosen with care, the stocking filler can even be more appropriate and appreciated than the so called main present and reveal the depth of your empathy, insight and connection with your sweetheart.
Now, it’s a well know fact that Christmas gifts for pet lovers, especially cat people, are notoriously difficult to get right.Do you buy for the moggie or for the doting owner to give to the moggie?People who regard their animals as human beings and describe themselves as the cat’s “mummy” or “daddy” are clearly mental. The ideal gift would be a straight-jacket obviously, but most of us will prefer something that panders to that anthropomorphic delusion without insulting the flea-ridden object of obsession. Stocking fillers for the special lady in your life (and let’s face it – cat lovers tend to be women) can demonstrate your empathy and support her belief that if she leaves her cat in a room with a spoon, a couple or paperclips and some string, before you know it Tiddles will have made a fully functioning helicopter. Wheras in relality Tiddles will likely just wee on the Bedroom furniture and claw the carpet up a bit.
Gifts for her who maintains “love me, love my cat” come no better than Dr Ivor Kitten’s (really!) “How Cunning Is Your Cat Test”. It will establish if the moggie is an intelligent creature of comfort or just a cunning homicidal maniac through a series of tests that measure curiosity, body image and intelligence. A free catnip mouse is included to give the mog a bit of encouragement. So if you’ve always suspected that, insanely jealous of your relationship with its “mummy, you’ll wake up one morning tied to the cat’s scratching post, putting Tiddles to the test can at least prepare you for that possibility.Or it can reassure you that there are no darker motives, and all it wants to do is scratch your eyes out if you touch that particular spot on its belly!
Bring Happiness To Your Pet Birds
Most people would get a pet bird because they thought that they are “low-maintenance pets”.Unfortunately for them, they would come across the truth that birds are not like that. Like any other animals, birds would need social and physical attention from their owners. There are studies showing pet birds developing behavioural problems because their owners neglect them.
How can you make your bird happy?
A healthy bird is a happy one. When caring for birds, it is important to take note of their diet, housing and other social needs. There are some bird owners, who were overwhelmed of their pet responsibilities that they either give up their pets or their pets escaped from their homes.
Here are some things to remember to make our little feathered companions happy.
Shelter and Cage
When choosing a cage for a pet bird, make that there should be enough room for them to move. It is ideal for small birds to have perches where they can hop to, while big birds should have enough room to spread their wings without touching the sides of the cage. Perches should also be in different sizes. This would remove any possibility of birds hurting their feet for staying in one position. The perches should also provide access to food and water.
There are also some bird toys which you can give to your birds. There are some bird toys which can come in very low prices or sometimes given away for free. It is just a matter of looking. You can also try providing some “natural” comfort to your birds. Like safe and edible plants and non-toxic wood inside the cage.
When choosing a location in your house where you can put the bird cage, keep the bird in a safe and quiet environment. Kitchen is a no-no. Cleaning and cooking fumes can get dangerous to birds. It is also important for birds to get direct sunlight. Similar to humans, birds also need vitamin D.
Cages should also be cleaned every day. You can use water and minimal amount of bleach to kill the bacteria.Move the bird in a safe place when you have decided to clean the cages. The cleaning fumes can be bad for the birds.
Nutrition and Grooming
Bird food is not solely bird seeds. Some pet owners think that bird seeds are just enough, seed only diet can result to early death. Birds’ diet should include vegetables, fruits, grains and dairy food. Avoid processed meat and food with high sugar content.Avocadoes and chocolates should normally be avoided since these are having high sugar content. Constant fresh water should be supplied to birds.
Bathing opportunity should be provided to birds. There are different options, you can put a shallow dish where birds can take a bath.Shower under a faucet would be prefered by some of the birds but you can also spray them with water. Bathing is important especially if the bird is suffering molting.
Birds also need to sleep. Make sure that the place where the cage can be silent and dark enough for the bird to sleep.
Socialization
Birds are social creatures. You watch from time to time without putting them into the cage. You would also need to give them time to make them happy. There were studies that have showed that parrots being neglected by their owners developed behavioural problems like feather plucking.
You can put your bird’s cage in the family room where family members can frequently see the bird and spend time with it. Free flight also provides great health benefits to your bird. Even if the bird cage is big enough, it still does not provide enough physical stimulation and movement to your pet. You can stay with your pet and with your family in the family room. Not only do you get to spend time with your pet bird, you also get to spend time with your family.
Dental Surgery May Require Strong Antibiotics….
I have been discovering why dentists will sometimes prescribe antibiotics before or after a dental procedure. I have made up my mind that it is merely for the faster healing of the gums but after doing my research, I was stunned with what I found out. Before or even after a bloody surgical procedure, antibiotics are prescribed but only to those with increased risk of bacterial endocarditis. I used my search engine and found out that bacteria are in abundance in the mouth – but not all kinds of bacteria increases your risk of endocarditis. People with history of the said disease, those with cardiac valve abnormalities and people with congenital heart disease, I may not have mentioned all but they are at highest risk of endocarditis and they have to have prophylactic antibiotic therapy. Bacterial Endocarditis is said to damage the heart valves when the bacteria in the bloodstream embeds in the defective heart valves, then it infects the heart’s inner lining.
You might think that you are not in control of situations such as this but I have read that it helps to maintain maximum care for gums and teeth to prevent undergoing invasive treatments that can lead to endocarditis. You have to also practice great care in flossing or brushing so as not to spread disease as your gums become infected. Ask your dentist about it and the dentist would gladly discuss it with you, as my dentist did.
Another reason for prophylactic antibiotic treatment is when a patient is diabetic – dentists make sure the patient doesn’t catch infections by healing the gums after an invasive treatment. Our oral health should be properly guarded to prevent any form of infection that might harm our over all well being.
Some products that might be helpful in helping you to pevent expensive dental treatments include therabreath mouthwash, a portable oral irrigator and the hydro floss.

Your Dental Health – Not So Healthy?
I went to the dentist the other day, I just realized how lax I am with my dental health. I go to the dentist whenever I feel that there is a need, like the other day, my reason was gum bleeding. I wouldn’t have gone to the dental clinic hadn’t it bled a little profusely It started as little as when I’m brushing but it alarmed me when I woke up one morning and spit out blood. I gargled, brushed and bleeding did not stop. Reason enough to rush to the dental clinic and skip work.
I never took seriously my hygienist reminding me every time that I need to pay regular visits to the dental office for the maintenance of my dental health. I found it really demanding and it feels as if it is not worth my time, effort and money. I am accountable to all that has happened to my mouth.
It disgusted me that I have really bad gum problem and multiple decaying teeth due to my negligence. All those years I thought I have been saving a lot of time, money and energy - Now it came to my senses that I just pushed myself to danger of losing all my teeth left and I exposed myself to infection. I am now consulting a periodontist, if I was only attentive and submissive to the suggestions of my hygienist, it wouldn’t have gone this far. I have costly procedures to undergo but I am left with no options but to submit myself completely to the treatment and do my maintenance at home.
Products that might be helpful include
An oral irrigator.
An ozonator
*consult with your doctor before attempting to self treat…

Sharp Air Purifier Review
Launching our debut Air Purifier Review – 5-Key Factors Model, we are starting with the Sharp Air Purifier Review.
In our earlier post, we dealt at great depth about the conspicuous absence of a Scientific Peer Review in the ionic air purifier business. Accordingly, we have extended our model to include Scientific Peer Review as a fifth key factor. This is even though it will draw a blank. It would be thrilling if the empty space sets off a budding scientist or researcher to embark on the first independent scientific peer review for an ionic air purifier technology. If I am aiming to be noticed, being the first with a scientific peer review in a multi-million industry seems a clear choice. It would be no surprise if every marketer of an ionic air purifier will then quote me!
Our Sharp Air Purifier Review of several articles will feature all aspects of the Air Purifier Review – 5-Key Factors Model i.e.:
(1) Safety – in relation to the reactive agent
(2) Safety – in relation to by-products
(3) Efficacy – the reactive agents work in the lab
(4) Efficiency – the reactive agents work in the real world
(5) Scientific Peer Review.
Turning 100 years old soon, Sharp is a Japanese company with a solid track record. In business, that speaks volumes, which is why we picked Sharp for our first review. The first article of our Sharp Air Purifier Review at Ezine.com provides a brief history of Sharp Corporation and includes a concise overview of their unique ionic air purification technology.
Apart from impressive history, Sharp seems to be genuinely interested in being transparent with information. Not that there is total transparency, but it is enough to outdo competitors.
Sharp Air Purifier Review – Unusual Insight of Marketing Strategy
What can be more transparent than revealing the marketing strategy for Plasmacluster Ion Technology? Amazing! Sharp detailed its phased marketing approach on 16 January 2009 as follows:
(a) Phase I
Intensive efforts on research and development resulting in a constant stream of Plasmacluster Ion technology in air purifiers, air conditioners, refrigerators, cyclonic vacuum cleaners, washers/dryers and LED lightings.
(b) Phase II
Concentrated attention on “academic marketing”, an approach that obtains scientific evidence of the efficacy of a certain technology through cooperative research with leading academic institutions and developing consumer products based on this proof that can be independently verified. Together with 14 academic research bodies around the globe, Sharp worked to instill confidence in its Plasmacluster Ion technology by proving its efficacy against 28 harmful pathogens and substances, inclusive of airborne bacteria and viruses, molds allergens and odors.
(c) Phase III
In its next major move, Sharp is demonstrating the effectiveness of the technology in real-life environments. As of 16 January 2009, Sharp is working with 24 different companies with a view to incorporate Plasmacluster Ion technology.
These include manufacturers of whole house air conditioning system, air sanitizer, car air conditioners, commercial air conditioning and heating duct systems for hotels and hospitals, gas fan heater, mist sauna, toilets, electric bathroom heater/ventilator/dryer, elevators, smoke control systems, railcar air conditioners, etc.
Several articles comprise our Sharp Air Purifier Review, including an overview of the patent-pending Plasmacluster Ion technology, a look at what actually went into the “academic marketing” that Sharp has carefully crafted into an art and also a peek into their future. Academic marketing is defined by Sharp in our Ezine article, accessible via the widget on our blog.
No announcements have been made but it seems fairly obvious that Sharp intends to monopolize the ionic air purifier industry. Their massive investment in the ever-improving cutting edge technology and their intense determination in academic marketing leave no doubt in our minds that they will succeed, sooner rather than later.

Simple Chicken Coops For Your Back Garden At Home
Are you aware that you can build simple chicken coops yourself at home. If you are searching for plans and tips for building your own chicken coop, they can be certainly found on the world wide web.
If you want to build a simple chicken coop, here are some random reminders that might help:
For a top notch guide on constructing chicken coops, see by visiting Build A Chicken Coop In 3 Days.
1. The plans you would use to make your coop should be easy to follow and should fit your location and the number of chickens you will raise.
2. It is important that when you construct your chicken coop, you take into account safety measures to protect your chickens from any vicious predators. Don’t overlook the possibility that natural predators could burrow under the ground to get to your chickens, so ensure the base is some way under the ground.
3. It’s a good idea to put a container beneath the floor of the coop if it’s raised to make cleaning up the litter less of a chore. Simply remove the “catcher” when it’s time to do the routine litter cleaning.
4. Before you start constructing your coop, take into account the climate of the surrounding area. If you live in a place with volatile weather conditions, it may be prudent to opt for a portable chicken coop that you can move for additional shelter or shade and so forth.
5. When constructing your chicken coop it’s a good idea to make sure it can be thoroughly cleaned with ease. You may want to build a sloping floor in the coop. By doing this you could clean up any dirt using a water hose so that it’s conveniently at the bottom.
Getting the right coop design is vital to the success of your project. Visit Backyard Chicken Coop Designs for more information.
6. Plan the position of your coop in relation to the sun. The window of the coop should face the morning sun to rid it of any dampness that could cause chickens to get sick.
7. In order to ensure the hens lay the optimum number of eggs, ensure inside the coop is comfortable. Choose a single nest for every 3 chickens. Situate the chickens nesting boxes in a dark area of the coop because they aren’t keen on laying eggs in light places.
8. Also remember to put a light on the chicken coop. Just one bulb can be enough for your chicken coop. Put the bulb where the chickens eat. It also has the added benefit of giving off heat for the chickens when it’s cold.
9. Construct your chicken coop where it can be easily seen from your home. If you are in the kitchen, you should be able to view the chicken coop when you look outside. This means you can also keep an eye on your chickens without having to leave your home every time you wish to do so.
Don’t forget to put the 9 tips in this article for building simple chicken coops to work and enjoy it.
That’s not everything though, there is also more reports and tips I’d like to share with you at Small Chicken Coop Plans
Golden Retriever Training Advice For Pulling-Free Dog Walks
Check out these five golden retriever training tips towards better dog walks with your best buddy.
1) Are you still giving your dog golden retriever training to walk better? Then do not involve it in group walks yet. But instead train it alone with the help of a martingale or a regular collar. Avoid common pitfalls, like for example starting out with light corrections that gradually build up until your patience burst. Instead, why not use in the first ever walk the correction that is serious enough to stop the behavior?
Meanness is not an option here. Allow the leash to slacken instead, then turn around quickly while pulling in the opposite direction, exclaiming loudly “No pull!” Before long, you will notice how a “No Pull”, together with slight tension on the leash, is enough to reign in the dog.
2) A prong can be an option, but only in important critical cases. Keep in mind to use it correctly and not to pull too hard. The dog, if it sensitive enough, will not yank too hard. Otherwise, if the dog seem immune to the pain, yanking harder is no solution. Use another method.
3) A lot of golden retriever walkers still swear by the time tested “quick turn around.” As you go zigzagging across the street and suddenly walking unexpectedly to opposite directions at a faster than usual pace, the dog will give up straining and will agree to follow you.
4) Gentle Leader is another option. Some owners apply it on the dog for only the first half of the walk, and when the dog gets a little tired and it is time to turn around, the GL is replaced with a regular nylon collar. Whenever the dog starts pulling, the Gl goes back on, and attempt is made to again do without it.
5) In this final golden retriever training suggestion, nothing fun if the dog insists on stalling with unwanted behavior. Have the dog sit, put a restraining hand to each shoulder, and say to the dog “walk”. After a few steps, compliment the dog with a “Good walk” if it is doing so. But as soon as the dog pulls, stop, have the dog sit, and say “bad walk” sharply. Normally, these dogs are smart enough (and more so with the help of golden retriever training) to gradually start knowing better.
