How much do you pay for house/pet sitting?

We have a pet hamster, a fish tank, and will need mail pick up. If we leave the dog home too – how much do you pay neighbor children to do it?

I pay a bonded and insured professional because my house is exposed and pets are a big responsibilitiy, and I pay $17 per visit.

I pay my 9 year old pet companion $2.50 per visit. She likes to come and play with the dogs when she is bored and will often hang out with them for an hour or so. But, she is supposed to just let them out, change their water or add fresh, and feed them. I have two dogs and she will come a few times a day depending on how bored she is! She set the rate, not me.

If I paid the professional pet/sitter and walker it is $35.00 per visit, so I usually give my neighbor a little bonus. I actually think the doggies like her better, too.
