Two years ago, our previous vet diagnosed Brutus of having diabetes and started treating him with 6 units of insulin two times a day.  Our previous vet advised us to feed Brutus with special dry food for diabetic cats. 

Then my friend told me me that her sister-in-law took her dog to a credible veterinarian and was impressed with the outcome.  Discovering Dr. Ava Frick’s clinic was a blessing to us.

Dr. Frick performed an experiment on Brutus by taking him off the insulin for a short while and reintroduced it.  She revolutionized his diet to a canned, low-carb food, and started on a routine of 2 units of insulin every 12 hours. 

In just a period of two days, his blood sugar levels returned to normal.  Furthermore, his overweening thirst and urination ended.

To look at him today, you would have no clue how close I came to losing him.  I am so thankful to have found Dr. Frick.  Zoltan and I cannot describe our deepest gratitude towards her.

Since Maya is an only child, we try our best to give her what she wants for as long as it will develop her character and help her learn new things. Even at her young age of 8, she already displayed an interest in horses and she’d love to have her own pet horse. The story was really sad. The horse sure was depressed but the owner couldn’t figure it out. They came in with a large, beautiful horse which had more years behind it than it had ahead of it. They loved the horse however and didn’t want to see it spend its final years suffering with equine depression. They lived on a nice big farm with lots of space for the horses to run. They had no idea that the horse was doing this because it was very frightened. They really had no idea the horse was suffering abuse. It’s something I’ve never seen before. She was really tiny. I believe she was a miniature shitsu. The word “miniature” was aptly suited whatever she was. Apparently these types of dogs are prone to having chronic tooth problems but let me tell you something; the kind of food my in-laws were feeding that poor dog was an abomination. The kinds of foods we eat are not meant for these little dogs to handle. While she was still relatively young even it was in quite a bit of distress from the obvious pet pain it was in. I remember her teeth being her biggest problem. Her irritation grew more and more over time because they never acknowledged her need for pet pain relief.
