What is a reasonable fee to charge for house/pet-sitting?

I may possibly have a job house/pet-sitting and need to know what to charge. There are two dogs that need to be taken care of and some light watering of outdoor plants. I’ve read on the internet that there is usually no charge for house-sitting, but I find that hard to believe.

Usually when people do that its whoever owns the house and that is going on vacation.. they usually just have a friend or neighbor do it. There isnt set prices on it.. just when the family or person comes home they usually give you some money for doign them the favor.

I didnt know people actually do it for a business… could start your own business. :)

my fee is usually around $25 a day for what you require. though, i’ve been told that i should be charging $20 for very half hour visit i make each day. for you, i’d ask the person who’s house-sitting to see what fee they’re comfortable with, and decide from there.

Light watering, so basically light doing nothing. They should charge you.
